I love maps. I use them in a lot of paintings, sometimes I draw them, replicate places I’ve been and places i want to go, or just places that plain interest me. This is a torn collage. I cut strips of a world map and collaged them in rows. I waited until it was mostly try and and than ripped the collaged pieces off. Some pieces stayed in place depending on the amount of glue or the length of time it was dry. Then I collaged again. Only going in a different direction. Ripped those pieces off where it gave.

I used the torn collaged surface as a basis for where I recreated the strips with paint. It clearly created vertical lines. I added script.
